Labūnava Parish of Divine Providence
Among the old graves of Labūnava stands the former Zabiela family chapel, now home to the parish church. Its story continues through the people who care for this place today.

A community of faith and tradition
The parish brings together Labūnava and nine neighbouring villages. Its annual celebrations honour Divine Providence, St Anne and St Francis of Assisi.
Help preserve Labūnava church
The Zabiela family mausoleum chapel, built in 1859, became the parish church after the 1944 fire. Its circular space is crowned by a dome—one of the building’s most distinctive features.
What future generations will find here depends on the care we give this church today. Everyone who is able and wishes to help is warmly invited to support its preservation.

From the Zabiela chapel to the parish church
The first wooden church was built in Labūnava in 1799. After the 1944 fire, the former Zabiela family chapel in the cemetery became the parish’s place of worship.
A historic photograph preserves the chapel as it once appeared, while architectural drawings reveal its design. Both belong to a much longer story of the Labūnava region.
